and its variety of tracks and famous hill is a real test for the
world's best thoroughbreds.
The highlight of the racing calendar, the Arc de Triomphe Weekend
is followed by 55,800 spectators and 1 billion television viewers
in 200 countries! It takes place every first weekend in October.

Longchamp racecourse stretches over 57 hectares between the Seine
and the Bois de Boulogne. Its idiosyncrasies include the mill, the
lake and the wood. 17 hectares are used for the course's four tracks:
the large track (2,750 metres), the average-sized track (2,500 metres),
the small track (2,150 metres) and the sprint track (1,000 metres).
There are 46 different starting posts for tracks from 1,000 to 4,000
metres long.
The Finish line extends over some 650 metres to the 2nd post.
